Whitney Elizabeth Houston (born August 9, 1963 in Beverly Hills, California) was an American R & B, soul and pop music singer, actress and filmmaker. With more than 170 million sold records and more than 200 gold, platinum, silver, and diamond records, and six Grammys, Whitney Houston was one of the most successful singers of all time. In 1992 she achieved the climax of her popularity with her acting debut in the leading role of the film Bodyguard and the soundtrack The Bodyguard, which she sang for the most part. I Will Always Love You became their world's most successful song. On February 11, 2012, Houston was found dead in her guest room at the Beverly Hilton, in Beverly Hills, California.
