Description
Patricia Highsmith (born 19 January 1921 in Fort Worth, Texas, USA) was an American writer who spent most of her life in Europe. Highsmith also wrote under the pseudonym Claire Morgan.



Patricia Highsmith has published 22 novels, including five with the main character Tom Ripley. In addition, she wrote a series of short stories that were published in her seven volumes during her lifetime. The most important stories from the estate were published in two volumes in German in 2002, in English in the same year in a one-volume edition. The appearance data of the complete new translations of the Diogenes factory edition are marked with "Diogenes-WA".



On 4 February 1995 she died of a cancer in a hospital in Locarno. She was buried in the cemetery of her last residence, Tegna, in Ticino.
