Kurt Tsadek Lewin (* 9 September 1890 in Mogilno, Posen Province, 12 February 1947 in Newtonville, Massachusetts) is considered to be one of the most influential pioneers of psychology. He is one of the founders of modern experimental social psychology and, together with Max Wertheimer, Wolfgang Köhler and Kurt Koffka, belongs to the "big four" of the Berlin School of Gestalt Psychology. His name is still connected with "field theory in social sciences". According to Lewin, the three-phase model he developed was called.



Lewin died of a heart attack on 12 February 1947 in Newtonville, Massachusetts. He was buried in his hometown.
