Description
Sir Julian Sorell Huxley (born June 22, 1887 in London, February 14, 1975) was a British biologist, philosopher, and writer. His early behavioral observations on dolphins and herons were among the first exact studies of behavioral research, which paved the way for the work of Konrad Lorenz and Nikolaas Tinbergen. Huxley was a humanist and a well-known actor of atheism. As the first UNESCO Secretary-General, he made a major contribution to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Huxley died on February 14, 1975 at the age of 87. He was burned on 18 February 1975 in Golders Green, London, England. His ashes were later removed by the funeral director.
