Emmanuelle Riva (born February 24, 1927 as Paulette Germaine Riva in Cheniménil, Vosges, France, January 27, 2017) was a French actress. In addition to her successful stage career, she has also appeared in over 80 film and television roles, mainly dramas, since the end of the 1950s. Success was the fairy, attractive artist mainly with the representation of feminine, however intelligent and tender women figures. [1] She was known to a wide audience by Alain Resnais' feature film Hiroshima, mon amour (1959). For Georges Franjus Drama The act of Thérèse D. (1962) she received the performance prize of the Venice International Film Festival. Internationally, she recently remembered Michael Haneke's award-winning feature film Love (2012), which included an Oscar nomination.
