Description
Was an Italian film and television actor, stuntman, lawyer, politician (forza Italia), swimmer and waterball player, singer, composer, producer, screenwriter, modedesigner, music producer and inventor as well as founder of the airline Mistral Air. Pedersoli, the first Italian to swim the 100-meter free-range in less than a minute, won the Italian swimming championships for several years in various disciplines, was a member of the Italian national soccer team, took part in the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 and the Melbourne Olympics in 1956. He became well-known under his artist name Bud Spencer with Terence Hill as comedy duo in numerous adventure and western comedies with elaborately staged beating scenes and some more serious Italians. He usually played the stubborn, phlegmatic, but kindhearted character, which put his opponents "strikingly" out of action. Bud Spencer died on June 27, 2016 at the age of 86 in a hospital in Rome. According to his son, he died peacefully in the circle of his family and took his leave with the word "thank you". Bud Spencer was born on the Cimitero Comunale Monumentale al Campo Verano in Rome.
