Description
Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones (born February 28, 1942 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, † July 3, 1969 in Hartford, Sussex) was a British musician. As lead guitarist he was one of the founders of the band The Rolling Stones.
Since the Rolling Stones had not been on tour since 1967, which was essentially due to Jones' desolate state, and Jones's shares in the studio recordings were becoming less and less, the Stones decided to separate from their former leader. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts went to the Cotchford Farm on June 8, 1969, and informed Brian Johnes about their decision. Jones accepted him and accepted the offer of the one-off severance payment of £ 100,000 (as well as £ 20,000 a year as long as the Rolling Stones exist). On 9 June 1969, the press release was published to separate the parties.
Brian Jones died at the age of 27 on 3 July 1969 at Cotchford Farm and was buried at the Priory Road Cemetery in Prestbury, Gloucestershire, England (Plot: Plot V11393). Brian Jones, like other influential musicians, is credited to club 27.
