The international breakthrough was made by Winehouse in 2006 with the album Back to Black. In her eight-year career, she sold more than 25 million records and received six Grammy Awards. The Beehive hairstyle, which Winehouse made a comeback, was her visual trademark.
Winehouse had alcohol problems, which worsened during her detox. From 2007 to the end of 2008 she suffered from bulimia, which had been triggered by her drug addiction.
On July 23, 2011, Winehouse was found dead. She had died of an alcohol poisoning of 4.16 per thousand in the blood.
